Ingredients needed for the Belgian waffles recipe:
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
4 eggs separated
4 oz butter (1 stick melted and cool)
1 tbsp fresh yeast or one package of active dry yeast
2 cups of milk warm (Temp 95-115 F)
Sift dry ingredients together.
Dissolve fresh yeast into warm milk. Add the milk mixture to dry ingredients. Mix well and add melted cooled butter. Whip whites to a stiff consistency and then fold into the milk mixture. Rest the mixture until double or at least 20 minutes.
Preheat waffle grill. Use waffle grill instructions.
Serve immediately with maple syrup or fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
